Rotoscopy is an animation and compositing technique used in the field of visual effects (VFX) to extract or trace objects or characters from a video sequence, usually to integrate them into another shot or background. This method allows for the creation of precise masks around live-action subjects, which can then be isolated, modified, or manipulated digitally.
