Six emblematic stories that tell the story of our society, the evolution of our values, our know-how or gender relations, social or technological progress, the construction of our political functioning… A series that allows us, ultimately, to understand who we are. We will meet the great people who built history and changed society, like Vercingétorix, Clovis, Charlemagne, Saint Louis, Joan of Arc and Henry IV. But also the journey of anonymous people whose destiny plays out in the shadow of these great events.

How did the French live at the time? What heritage from this distant past have we kept? How, in the face of various perils, has France built an identity and a base of values ​​over the centuries?

This series is carried by an exceptional narrator, the actor Tomer Sisley. An iconic and popular personality in an unexpected role: he is the viewers’ benevolent guide. Tomer Sisley appears in certain fundamental scenes of French history, he enters the settings and the eras, like a passenger of time.
