Texturing is the process of creating and applying textures to 3D models in order to give them a realistic or stylized appearance. It is an essential step in computer-generated imagery (CGI) and visual effects (VFX) production, as it allows for simulating the surfaces, materials, and details of an object or a digital environment. This includes aspects such as color, patterns, surface details (like roughness, glossiness, or transparency), and realistic imperfections (such as cracks, dirt, and wear).
